In the classroom

University of Birmingham Boot Camps combine engaging, informative lectures with individual and collaborative team exercises. Homework assignments and projects provide an opportunity to apply what you’ve learned and take your skills to the next level — this is key to truly mastering the topics covered. The goal is to give you a comprehensive learning experience and true insight into a “day in the life” of a full stack developer or data analyst.

We believe immersive instruction and real-world application are pivotal to gain new skills in a shortened time period, so we provide an intimate virtual classroom environment centered on hands-on learning. In addition to our skilled instructors, our knowledgeable teaching assistants provide extensive support in the classroom. Our course structure is broken up into three main groups.

  • Lab work

Through timed, in-class exercises and projects, you will work individually and in groups to gain hands-on practice.
  • Discussion

Instructors lead discussions examining the background, history, and use of a new concept or technology.
  • Portfolio projects

Your portfolio shows employers that you have the skills they need. You’ll build a robust portfolio of apps and projects that prove your mastery across a wide variety of technologies.
